URBAN TUMBLEWEEDS
I have these memories of seeing balls of cassette tape tape rolling around parking lots and on sidewalks. Clearly these aren't recent memories, but they're something that I can't shake right now. I went to the thrift store a couple of weeks ago to buy some tapes to see what I could do with them. I've tried glueing the magnetic strip to some canvas. I'm not sure if I like that yet, but I did pull out a whole cassette's worth of tape and make my own tape ball. It's hanging on the wall right now. It's floppy and makes a nice rustling noise like a cheerleader pom pom. I drew it a few times this weekend and then layered the drawings in photo shop. Maybe nothing else will come of this, but it's just something I'm thinking about right now.

SUNDAY MORNING
I take pictures with my memory when I drive around. This morning I went out and collected some of them. These are mostly things that I find interesting, and I'll post the rest of them this week.
I like looking for the LIME tag. This one is from a building wall downtown. I've found a few others, mostly in the North Knox / Downtown area, but have seen one as far west as Middlebrook Pike.

SUBLIMINAL MIND TRICKS
I stopped painting on this a few weeks ago and have been letting it sit. I finally decided it was done. And then, I spotted this box in my office. It's been kicking around for about a year. I can't explain this one. Inspiration by proximity?

COLLECTION
I've been out of the studio for a while. It was crunch time at Day Job and I took a much needed CabinParty HottubTime break in the mountains. I've got nothing new right now, so I decided to post some of my huge collection of photographs I've taken that inform the work I am making right now. I've been letting a post about how all of this makes sense in my head simmer for a while, and I want to post that soon. But to tide you over until then, here are some things I've been looking at.
